Having started this years ago with lots of prototype jackets in waxed canvas of various sorts, I summoned up the courage to buy an industrial sewing machine a couple years back. Crazy as it seems there was a clear goal in mind: can I create something which feels and fits better than what was currently on the market for “normal” paddlers. The job was harder than I thought and the results were varying, to say the least 🙂
Jumping forward to today’s date and a thousand failures, we are producing the tuiliks in Europe, Poland at a small expert facility. The neoprene quality is excellent and it gives our tuilik a less bulky appearance and feel. It also dries quicker than heavier material. To top it off, it is supple enough and stretches so well that it can fit tightly over any ocean, and most keyhole cockpits. Now you can use one tuilik for all kayaks!
